-Emphasis on Outdoor Exploration with much of daily curriculum taking place outdoors, and bringing the outdoors in- instilling a love for the outdoors in young children.
-Study of Sign Language and Spanish: Studies have shown that infants/toddlers introduced to sign language develop language skills sooner and demonstrate a better understanding in language/literacy. Between the ages of 0-3, the brains of young children are uniquely suited to learn a second language as the brain is in its most flexible stage.
-PLAYschool- 100% dedication to a hands on environment for your little one. Defined spaces that introduce; art exploration, language/literacy, science/math skills, dramatic play, music/movement, construction/large motor, and more!
-Low Staff/Family Turnover: Honeypie Nature Playschool is owned and operated by Ms. Janell. Families will often see her "helpers"/4 children and husband, Mr. Steve. Occasionally, Wisconsin Early Education Shared Services Network Relief Squad Staff will step in (scheduled a minimum of 2 weeks in advance) to allow Ms. Janell time to take care of the "behind the scenes"/administrative work and allow time for Ms. Janell to tend to her family/self (preventing provider burnout). Families who enroll most often make Honeypie Nature Playschool their child's 'home away from home'- from the day of enrollment, until the day their child is ready for 'big kid school', often coming back to visit for drop in days and Summer Fun. Honeypie Nature Playschool is also proud to provide families with option of 'redshirting' their child(ren) and gifting them with additional time to 'be a kid' (waiting to enroll in school until Kindergarten or 1st grade) and ensuring that they are provided with PLAYducation. Research shows "that a one-year delay in the start of school dramatically reduces inattention/hyperactivity at age 7...a measure of self regulation with strong negative links to student achievement."
